June 20-23, 2014

Friday, 6/20

The Chicks began arriving  in the early afternoon at the beautiful Lilac Cottage, which was anything but a cottage:  8 bedrooms, 4/5 baths, numerous “living” areas, pool, hot tub and beautiful grounds.  The 1910 Tudor house is on the historic registry.  Everyone settled in and spent the afternoon around the pool getting reacquainted and catching up on one another’s lives.   We stopped laughing long enough to eat pizza and play some games before retiring for the night.

Saturday, 6/21

Following breakfast served by Chief Priscilla and her crew, the group was on their own until dinner.   There was something for everyone:   walking around the beautiful neighborhood (including some Open House visits), antiquing, the Farmer’s Market and the Annual Walla Walla Sweet Onion Festival, visiting wineries, (including Basel Cellars), and a tour of Pepper Bridge Winery.    Dinner was at the south Fork Grill were we met a group of 20 - 20-something’s  at a Bachelorette Party.   They even asked to have their picture taken with us!

Sunday, 6/22

Brunch cooked and served by Chiefs Kathy and Mary, followed by more “open” time doing whatever one wanted to do.  Many spent the day around the pool and in the hot tub.   Dinner consisted of pulled pork sandwiches and all the trimmings.   The evening concluded with fun games and conversation.

Monday, 6/23

Brunch provided by Chiefs Linda and Kandice.

And then it was time to say goodbye to the gorgeous Lilac Cottage, Walla Walla and its 80+ degree weather, and 19 fantastic Chicks!   Needless to say, it was another great time for the Chicks of 66 and we can’t wait until 2016 when the Westside Chicks will be the hostesses.  As Priscilla Walker said, “This is going to be a puddle of fun!!!”
